Interesting Email Strategy by Snapdeal

Today i noticed that snapdeal has started to include partner banner ads in emails they send.
I guess they are the first ones to introduce and use their emails as direct revenue source.

This shall definitely help them cover up some of mailer cost, which is one of major cost head for any marketing team especially in eCommerce.

From the look of it SD would have sold the space in PPC and CPM. Theya lso mention dedicated phone number, all leads on that number can be ,measured and later investor clinic can be charged accordingly.

BTW, this is the first time SD has done something like this, earlier they had tie up with insurance companies where users were given Rs 50 as SD cash to give minimum 15 minutes to listen to insurance advisors and hence generate lead.

It will be interesting to watch this space and check who else SD may have had tie up for this space in their emailers.

On the down side usually no reputed ecommerce company yet, have started to showcase ads in their mailers though quite a few display banner ads on their landing pages (naaptol, shopping.indiatimes.com).

Google Analytics not Working ??

If you were also facing an issue related to Google Analytics from past two days where you were seeing exclamation mark on site and a blank page.

This is because of new improvements and scripts added by GA recently last week.

The solution is to add analytics.aggogle.com to your whitelist in your add-block extension ( AB or ABP).

You may disable Ad block software or add GA as an exception

WHY PWD is considered to be among most corrupt Government department

Well all those living in Noida, must be seeing new roads being built up. Some of you must be happy that old broken roades are being mended.


Now two points which i noticed as a flaw in this process...

1.

Most of roads were already in good shape, JCB machines are being used to actually scratch un-earth the road so that they can be rebuilt. utter waste of our Tax Money. Building roads which do not repair.
2.

The timing of building roads is crucial, within next 2 months there will be rains, and most of the road repair work will be washed and hence quality of the material used and durability of roads will never be correctly measured.
Thus PWD and contractor nexus will continue.Both PWD and contractor will suggest roads have been washed due to heavy rains and is ACT OF GOD and hence quality of material used and construction work is not at fault.



I believe this process of making money by this department is as old as I am living in this county almost 2.5 decades.
Wish we have better policing and stricter, better & efficient
